MMOEXP: Elden Ring like previous Souls games

I'm combining two items here because I'm not interested in creating separate entries in relation to both. Before the Eclipse will welcome him into the realm of God Hand, the man who was once called Griffith endures a an unending year of torture sleeping with Elden Ring Runes the princess from an important kingdom. His tongue is severed and his skin is cracked, and all the while he's required to wear an iron mask. After being saved by Guts and other members of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith slowly recuperates, but the mask is left to hide the scars of his brutal encounter.
Elden Ring players have drawn parallels between Griffith's iron mask and that of the Prisoner class of players that they can pick at the start to play. It's not a 1:1 reference however, the covered eye on the prisoner's headwear corresponds to the fact Berserk seldom shows a face-to-face Griffith wearing his mask. He tends to depict the tortured mercenary with the one eye obscured through the mask's shadow.
Furthermore, the Winged Helm worn by Elden Ring boss Malenia and eventually obtainable by players can easily be seen as an homage to a similar piece of armor Berserk antagonist-turned-ally Farnese wears during her time commanding the Holy Iron Chain Knights. It's possible to be dismissed as both being inspired by medieval depictions of Valkyries however I prefer to view the two as directly linked, as this is more entertaining.
And finally, my favorite Berserk reference in Elden Ring apart from the sword fields. Elden Ring, like previous Souls games, conceals the world's building in its descriptions of the items. It's often the best method to find out why someone performed something of significance or the relationship between whom and, therefore, it's a good the reason that tributes to Berserk may be hidden in the flavor descriptions too.
This is akin to the remarks made in Guts' Dragon Slayer in Berserk, which in the very first section of the comic is described as a "raw stack of iron" that's "much too massive to be called a sword." Characters are frequently shocked how Guts is able to wield this cheap Elden Ring Items weapon due to its size. However, due to his unimaginable ability, he's been able to use it to slice through anything that is in his path. The two weapons even look like each other, but that could just be because they're both massive.
